TVXQ and Rain kick off 2014

Happy New Year Everyone! 새해 복 많이 받으세요! I hope everyone will have a great year in 2014 and what's the best way to spend this year rather than listening to K-pop and watching your favorite K-Dramas and movies? : D Well talking and writing most about K-pop here, it seems that 2014 has started really good bacause two big names made their return! I'm talking about TVXQ and Rain of course!

 

Rain has been really busy after been released from the army but I don't think he has any problem with that. First off he left J.Tune Camp and joined Cube Entertainment, he appears on Mnet's variety show Rain Effect and, yes, you guessed right he made his comeback with the release of his new album which is also named  Rain Effect. About his music comeback Rain decided to release two video clips rather that just one because hmm well two are always better than one right? Both songs have a different feeling. LA Song is a back to the classic-90's hip hop song with great instrumental and a addicted chorus lalalalalala~~~ 

30Sexy is a modern pop song which propably make you move your body like Rain does. I don't know if he made the choreography but I really like it. It seems like something that only Rain can make it work. It has this whole groovy smoothy you know feeling ( 느김 아니까! ). If I have to pick one I will definitely choose 30Sexy. The only thing you have to do is watch both music videos and decide which one is your favorite. Maybe both! But I'm gonna post here my favorite.

                                                                         

 

Now who wasn't excited about their return? Ever since their teaser jacket photos and video promos they had Cassioppeias jumping up and down, playing with our emotions until their comeback and now they are finally here! *clap clap * 

Different from their previous hit songs Catch Me and Humanoids, Something has a jazz vibe all over it but that isn't SOMETHING that TVXQ can't handle ( see what I did there? ). The mv is just playing awesome and the boys are full with charisma as they sing and dance with so much confidence. Seriously is there anything that they can't do? They can try all music themes and genders and still be great! About the mv is also different with lots of girls around the boys, band members and dancers and an outstanding set. Lights, set, wardrobe, song and the choreography are amazing. My favorite part is the beginning when they use the strings to play the bass (?) - sorry I don't know - totally smart move! And also how about the dance solo that Yunho and Changmin have in the middle of the song? Genius! Althoug I haven't still listen to their album, I know it's gonna be phenomenon! And the reason why it's simple : It's TVXQ 10th Anniversary! 축하합니다! and I'm pretty sure that their album will be the best present this year!

Henry is trapped

 

To tell you the truth I was surprised when I heard that SM will debut a new solo male artist. I was wondering who could it be, someone who we know or not? So when I found out that is Super Junior - M's Henry I couldn't hide my happy feelings!

I'm so excited that SM gave Henry a chance to shine! This kid has a lot of talents in his sleeve ( cooking, dancing, playing the guitar, the piano, the violin and he speaks Korean, Chinese and English extremely well ) so it's nice for Elfs to see him as a solo artist.

Let's start with his mv and the title track 'Trap'. Both the song and the mv shows his amazing dance, singing and piano skills. In the beginning of the mv we see Henry in a luxurious room - notice the burning ceiling - playing effortlessly a nice melody on the piano. I think we all agree to just let him playing the piano and doing nothing else. Then as the song starts he plays the piano again but now in a modern studio with dancers accompany him. As the mv continuous he walks and dance on the piano and dancing along with the dancers. The choreography might look simple but it actually isn't. Henry has this-free-hip-hop-vibe in him and thus he makes everything looking really easy when it's not. In the mv Henry is trying to forget his ex-girlfriend but he has a difficult time since every little thing reminds him of her until he finds the courage and the will to get away and leave nothing else but lashes beside him. 

But if you think that's all, think again. If you are a SHINee or a Super Junior fan then you probably don't wanna miss this mv because it features Taemin and Kyuhyun!The best dancer and the best vocalist in a best debut song. How better can it be?

Taemin and Kyuhyun, bring their own talents in the mv and song. Taemin shows his amazing dance skills, even in a short period of time and Kyuhyun makes the song even better with his incredible voice.
Henry's 1st mini album 'Trap' is definitely a worth buying album. All the songs are amazing and it's really difficult to choose which one is better. Listen to '1-4-3', ( a new way to say I love you ) 'My Everything', 'Holiday','Ready To Love' and the english song 'I would' and try to choose one too. I have to give props to SM Entertainment. They make good promotions with their artists and they provide best quality albums.

Boa - Disturbance

Jumping BoAs must be really happy about their Queen! Not only Boa made her 1st concert in Seoul on the 26th but she also released her new song 'Disturbance' that day as a gift to her fans that attended her concert. 2 days later, on the 28th, SM entertainment revealed the song and the music video to the public via YouTube.
Her new song is different from both 'Only One' and 'The Shadow' simply because this time we have the chance to listen Boa's amazing vocals. This mid - tempo ballad song suits her perfectly. I like that she doesn't dance but she focusses on her voice. We all know that she is a killing dancing machine so I think it's nice to also see another side of her. Not that she has to prove anything though.
The mv is a highlight by itself. We get to see a plot between Boa and Taemin! Our lovely SHINee's maknae is featuring in the mv, as Boa's boyfriend, and we can all see that he has grown up! He's a real man now and he lets to see that through the mv. Also Boa's brother has directed it that's why it's different from SM's music videos.
Now about the mv it starts with Taemin sitting in a living room, putting a ring on his finger and set the hourglass on. I think this is the 'key' to the mv because the end of it lies upon it. After that he plans to leave the house but he decides not to. In the mv we see Boa and Teamin happy and sad moments. I like that we can see some interaction among SM Town's members! As the mv reaches the end we get to my favorite part : You can determine its ending! You can choose between 'Let time go by' or 'Go back to the past'. Whichever caption you choose, you go back to the hourglass scene and you can see what will happen from now on. I'm not going to tell you since I don't want to spoil it.

The Girls got their boys

여리뷴 (everyone) Happy New Year!!! 2013 started really great especially to SONEs! Our 9 girls made their long return with their 4th full album 'I Got A Boy'. Now isn't that a nice way to start the year?
I just love love love their new concept! We kinda get an idea of their new image at the last seconds of the  'Dancing Queen' mv and of course when they released the teaser jacket photos. All the girls look stunning but I think Seohyun was the best. Maybe I'm a little biased since she's my favorite member but she looks wonderful, doesn't she?

The album comes in 10 covers (1 with all of them together and with the members individually). It also consists of 10 songs with 'I Got A Boy' being the title track. My favorites are 'Talk Talk' and 'Baby Maybe'.

Girls' Generation tried a different type of song this time and they sure nailed it! I like both the song and the mv. 'I Got A Boy' gives the impression that it's not one song but more likely is five or six songs combined together. In that case it fits perfectly for the girls. The music and melody changes constantly, hip hop,r'n'b, pop. The interesting part it's that it doesn't get boring or annoying. It gets addicting and the parts are very well combined. 

There isn't much to say about the choreography since we know that our girls never disappoint us when it comes to dancing. The dance is incredible! The moves match with the beat and my favorite dance part is at the chorus : I got a boy 멋진... Really really nice! Their style is wow! Brightful colors, clothes with hip hop elements but with a girly touch suit them the best. Heoyeon's rainbow hair is the most eye-catching hairstyle and it looks awesome on her.

The mv is fun to watch. In the beginning we see the girls in a room preparing to go out and teasing each other when suddenly their boyfriend appears in the front door. I must say Taeyeon's face when the boy rang the bell is priceless!!As the mv continuous the nine ladies have some interaction with their boyfriend while they are out. Seohyun looked so cute when he tied her shoe and probably only Heoyeon could punch the guy in the face for being late. Girls power!

It seems the girls brought a new type of song this year, making their own sound. So allow me to introduce them...here comes trouble!

The Gods of the East are back

 

Cassiopeias must be thrilled that their boys returned to the music scene with the release of their 6th repackage album 'Humanoids'. This album has 2 more tracks : 'Humanoids' and 'Here I Am'. Both songs are amazing so if you haven't listened them yet, well, do it now!
Tvxq decided to make a comeback with the song 'Humanoids'. I must say that it's better than 'Catch Me'. Don't get me wrong I really like 'Catch Me' - the dragon hand moves were phenomenon - but I fell in love with 'Humanoids' the minute I saw the mv. I find it to be more catchy, more upbeat, more my style.
First of all I like what they are wearing. Simple choice is always the best choice. Casual pants, colorful jackets and elegant coats make them look even handsome. If that's even possible. Second, since we are talking about Tvxq you know that they are not gonna disappoint you (ever) in one particular section : Performance. With Changmin vocals and Yunho crazy dancing skills the results can't be less than perfect. I like that they don't dance the whole time together. Having their own parts each, makes the dancing better and both of them can show their abilities. Favorite dance move is the 'hand clap - head turn' around 01:31. Just awesome! All you have to do now is see the mv and sing 'Cause we are humanoids!'

Girls' Generation is back and in love

Girls' Generation is back with their new Japanese single 'All My Love Is For You'. The song is different from their previous also japanese song 'Paparazzi'. Though 'Paparazzi' was an upbeat, pop song with a complex and creative choreography, 'All my love is for you' doesn't follow the same concept. This time the girls show their soft, gentle and calm side with this ballad using their expressions and vocals to describe their feelings towards the man they love. Although the song focuses more on their singing skills through the mv we can see the girls dancing along with the song. It seems like they are practicing in a studio while the leader wants to captivate this moment by drawing the members. As the mv reaches the end the girls smile and laugh towards the camera showing their bond and how free they feel with each other making it even better for their fans. The only sure thing is that you are gonna love this song!
